Pentecost is upon us! Pentecost is upon us again-- a season to pray and ponder and more deeply welcome the mysterious third person of the Trinity: The Holy Spirit. Below is the ancient hymn, Come Creator Spirit. Last year I read through Raniero Cantalamessa's book of meditations on the hymn by the same title. I'm thinking of doing that again. For now-- I encourage you to spend some time this week with the prayer. Are any of you reading and praying in particular ways through the days after Pentecost? If so, I'd welcome hearing about what you are reading and learning. hey jd,
at gcf on sunday we read from numbers 11 - where 70 leaders receive the holy spirit and prophesy, and moses says that he wishes all of God's people were prophets...it was a great text that i didn't usually associate with pentecost..and fun to discover it again. i could really feel God's heart that His people would 'rise up'
i'm praying that i'm more aware of the spirit's presence in my most challenging moments, as opposed to just God the Father or God the Son...if the essence of God is inseperable, then i want to be aware of all three persons (was reminded of this from the teaching at our youth group sunday night by Wes P)
thanks for all the recent worship quotes.
