What's the Deal with Deal or No Deal
And why can't I stop watching it

OK, it's not like I have a problem or anything. I've only seen it a few times ever-- but once the channel lands there I can't seem to move on. Could it be the most ridiculous show on television? I mean, there are many competing for that distinction-- so what's going on there?

Some Halloween Fun. The stranger in the mix is Mary Kathryn's friend, Noel-- daughter of Steve Tsoukalis and Sandy Richter who teach at our seminary.

JD, you obviously have a thing for train wreck TV. ;^)

Hope all is well with you and the fam. Our kid #2 is within a couple of months of arrival. We're trying to get our minds around 2, can't imagine 4...but maybe you're still working on that too...

could it be a case of man-love for howie mandel? that right there should take care of the problem for you, jd. oh, by the way, there is good and bad about my kids being past the "dress up for halloween" stage of life. my blog will have picks of my two in the next couple of days, so check them out sometime.

Wouldn't you have loved to have been in on the meeting where this show was pitched???

"Now I know what you're thinking Mr. Television Executive... another quiz show... but this one will be different... it's all based on picking a random number between one and fifty!!! No??? Well we can make it even more fun... We'll add a banker... banks are fun... aren't they??? NO?? Okay... well then... um... OH! Two Words... Howie Mandel!" (I stole this idea from a comedian.)

Seriously though... have you noticed lighting design on gameshows lately... they rival vegas... I think they do it on purpose... watching a gameshow is like watching fire. You can't pull yourself away.
Seriously though...

deal or no deal is so fun because you can participate from your couch. sure you may not actually win the money, but you can advise the player on whether or not to take the deal...and then say "i told you so" if they blow it or get a sick feeling yourself if they quit too early. and admit it, during this show we are all yelling at the TV...
