AI v. POTUS
Yo FarmStrong Dogs! Check this out.

My friend Johnathan Page (and most faithful commentator, alias jp) sent me this link today comparing the voting in American Idol with the last United States Presidential Election. Confirms my thinking.

Sorry for letting the cat out of the bag for tonight--- but really. . . . . .was there ever any doubt.

Soul Patrol,

IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHO WON YET TURN DOWN YOUR TELEVISION AND DON'T CLICK HERE

Question oh learned commentators...

Is it true that more people vote for the American Idol than in the general election? I'm having a hard time believing it for several reasons.

1.) You don't have to be 18 to vote for American Idol so therefore more of the population are able to vote, including convicted felons.

2.) American Idol allows you to vote as many times as you want while you get to vote in an election just once.

So... is it true or just one of those things we hear about and believe it's true?

i would have to agree with michel on this one... i have voted many times in one night for a contestant, but got only one vote for president (and it was in texas, so it didn't count anyway).

Perhaps their point is that it appears, at least, that there is more interest by Americans in voting for AI than for voting for presidents...even if it doesn't relate to total number of people. I can't think of this much interest in presidential elections....
There's a movie out with Dennis Quaid that explores this very issue, don't remember the name.
No AI, and No 24 for several months...what to blog about now?

SOUL PATROL!!!!! So much we could talk about the finale, but I have to say my absolute favorite moment was the Clay Aiken surprise. I thought that poor guy was going to have a heart attack right there on the Kodak stage!!!

If we are adding our requests for future blog dish...Grey's Anatomy! Now that is exciting drama!!

Okay, so I admit that Grey's Anatomy is a bit risque, I wouldn't quite call it PORNISH! ANd while I agree that there are certainly more wholesome viewing options, I confess I am completely addicted!

I am somewhat at a loss as to what I am going to do with my Tuesday and Wednesday nights now that Idol is over. I guess I will have to live my life!! Shocking! I don't really care for the "Do I Make You Proud" song. It is a little hokey I think and seems too young of a song for him. I think hey usually write those sorts of songs because the winners are usually 20 years old.

Personally I wish the final two had been Taylor and Elliott. He sort of grew on me and I really like him. I think he had the best talent. And he loves his Mama!

Give Tiff and Big hug for me. When are you guys coming our way?

Shout out to H-Town!

Amy Batte is in the house!! Wahooo!

Dr. Dreamy (Grey's anatomy) isn't worthy material for this esteemed blog...or is it?

You're going on sabbatical?? Lucky Man!! Perhaps you could do a photo essay combining your poetry with appropriate images....future book????

I am totally addicted to Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anotomy. I don't know what it says about my y Chromosome though...

Anyway, on DH they had a very intresting statement that has kept me up at night... it was this...

"Hate is not the opposite of love... the opposite of love is indifference. If you hate, then somewhere in you mind you still care."

It was an interesting statement... what do you think?

PS... Amy - I hate Georges new haircut... he looks like Hitler.
